Research Program Manager

General Summary/Purpose

To assist the program director with the operational program management of the Johns Hopkins HIV Women’s Health Program and assure programmatic compliance with Federally sponsored funding.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operational Program Management
  • Hiring, training, supervision of MAI staff member (pending hire) until then Full lifecycle program management of the Minority AIDS Initiative grant for The Johns Hopkins Women’s HIV Health Program in the Baltimore Emerging Metropolitan Area
  • Manage data and analysis on patient progress, barriers to healthcare, and referrals made to ensure program compliance. Compile and develop data for the Minority AIDS Initiative grant program and prepare final reports for submission to HRSA
  • Will be responsible for the management of Quality Improvement activities as they pertain to HRSA and BCHD requirements including institutional and regional (city and state) Ryan White quality management activities.
  • Participate in strategic planning meetings in efforts to effectively implement and evaluate program goals.
  • Represent JHWHHP at stakeholders meetings for projects the program is involved in Established long lasting relationships with community members, stakeholders, and organizations. Successfully created a repository of resources for client use.
  • Attend meetings representing program throughout the state of Maryland
  • Serve as a liaison between JHWHHP and local and federal grantor agencies
  • Serve as program liaison between pediatric program and OB/GYN program ensuring that collaboration is seamless.
  • Train other team members on use of data to improve quality of services and generate qualitative reports for assessing short and long range organizational goals. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans for programmatic strategic planning.

  • Responsible day to day program implementation
  • Grant writing support to director, reporting of deliverables to various local and federal agencies—health department, HRSA
  • Participate in Developing, monitoring Clinical quality Management plan and update progress and make recommendations for improvement
  • Responsible for Data Management, analysis and reporting: follow deliverable schedule to submit program reports
  • Assist with work plan modifications and budget development and making sure grant funds are expended.
  • Provide guidance and timely updates to senior level management to ensure that operational and programmatic requirements are met.
  • Administrative Projects
  • Provide administrative guidance and support
  • Ensure that program is in compliance with all administrative, clinical, fiscal policies by conducting quarterly internal audits of the various program components
  • Create/ adapt compliance documents that outline program policies and procedures at the programmatic level
  • Independently draft various documents, including MAI grant reports, programmatic and outcome reports, letters and correspondence
  • Gather and present programmatic, organizational, and operational information to senior leadership, both orally and in writing
  • Minimum Qualifications(Required)

    Bachelor's degree in related discipline. Related Master's preferred.

    Five (5) years related experience. Demonstrated supervisory or lead responsibilities.

    Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by theJHU Equivalency Formula:18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for the required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job. *

    Preferred Qualifications

    Master’s degree in Public health or related field

    • 5 years related experience working in HIV-related field.

    Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    The applicant should have knowledge of HIV organizations and Ryan White Services and Ryan White/ HRSA funding requirements.

This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
