The University of Michigan Library (Ann Arbor) is looking to fill a
position of Assistant Librarian to serve as librarian for Map and
Geospatial Data.
Responsibilities: Serve as Librarian for Map and Geospatial Data: Design and teach library instruction classes in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), incl. ArcGIS and Omeka, to students; teach training sessions and workshops to the university community regarding diverse library resources on maps, geospatial data, and digital scholarship. Provide specialized reference service and research consultations for faculty and students. Provide outreach to academic departments and the local community. Seek opportunities for partnerships with faculty and librarian colleagues. Develop, manage and assess the geospatial data and map collections. Seek professional development and provide service to the university.
Requirements: ALA-accredited master's degree in library and information science, or equivalent; demonstrated experience using Omeka and ArcGIS suites of software.
