Auburn University at Montgomery invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of English in Professional Writing, to begin Fall 2021. We are seeking a candidate with a scholarly agenda in professional and technical writing who will support the growth of our new Certificate in Professional and Technical Writing. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to offer courses in grant writing, digital publishing and editing, and other areas of professional and technical writing suitable to their qualifications. These courses will be part of the new Certificate as well as the professional writing area of our English Major. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop graduate courses in their specialty. Also expected are teaching in core composition and supporting the Composition Program.

AUM has an official 4/3 teaching load. Faculty with ongoing scholarship and publication usually receive a course release for a normal 3/3 load. Internal funding and professional improvement leave to support scholarship are available.

Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in English with a specialization in Technical Communication, Rhetoric, and Composition, or related field. Competitive salary.
