POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing all aspects of the Career Services, including student success, graduate outcome plans in relation to the target goals set, the development of strong relationships between employers, graduates, and university departments, marketing graduates to national, regional and local firms, and overseeing all Career Services programs and services offered to students, graduates and alumni. Technical knowledge of the specific area of assignment may also be required.

KEY JOB ELEMENTS:

    Meet annual goals for college in employment for graduates as designated by South University; comply with all South University and Career Services policies. Markets the university's Career Services program and its graduates for existing employer relationships as well for the development of new employer relationships. Work closely with the University Director of Career Services, Program Directors, Deans of Student Affairs, and Campus Presidents/Directors to ensure desirable outcomes are reached for graduates. Planning, supervision and assistance in delivering career programs and workshops (self-assessment, resume writing, interviewing, salary/benefits negotiation, job search strategies), virtually and in person designed to prepare students for the job market. Provide individual career guidance for students and graduates seeking jobs, remotely or in person Ensure data collection and data entry is timely and accurate; maintain graduate files in compliance with South University policy. Manage service operations to ensure key constituents (students, graduates, alumni and employers) receive quality services and support. Manage on-site recruiting activities Work with Deans of Student Affairs to provide recruiting activities for remote campuses Oversee Alumni Association with Student Affairs Department Other duties as assigned along with Dean of Student Affairs

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in a related field preferred. Five or more years of strong management experience and/or career counseling experience in a corporate or academic setting Knowledge of the career decision making and placement process Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with a range of populations Superior organizational and problem resolution skills. Business computing skills Persuasive sales techniques both over the phone and in person Professional telephone manner and personal appearance. Strong relationship skills Interact effectively as a member of a team and work collaboratively across all levels of the organization as well as remotely Listen to customers (e.g. students, staff, etc.) and to understand and respond positively to their requests. Ability to work without close supervision and to set one's own priorities and work schedule Ability to plan, coordinate, monitor and motivate the activities of others Ability to pay attention to details in designing, implementing and maintaining systems, projects and programs Multi- task, meet deadlines, and deliver a work product in line with quality standards. Ability to build strong relationships remotely Ability to adapt to change
ENVIRONMENT:

The individual must be able to travel out of the local area with an occasional overnight stay to observe and evaluate students, clinical sites, and clinical coordinators and also participate in a variety of conferences and meetings.
