The Department of Modern & Classical Languages at the University of Houston invites applications for a full-time renewable and promotion-eligible non-tenure track position in French, beginning Fall 2021. We are looking for a colleague with a Ph.D. in French or applied linguistics, with a specialization in second language acquisition.

The primary responsibility for this position is teaching language courses and coordinating the lower-division French language program, with a teaching load of 12-13 hours per semester, and a possible course reduction for language program coordinating. Demonstrated expertise in teaching French to university-level learners as well as in second language pedagogy, and second language assessment is required. Knowledge of curriculum design and course sequencing is highly desirable. Native or near-native proficiency in French and English is required.
