Position: Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering
Effective Date: August 17, 2021(Fall Semester)
Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related
field. Degree at the time of application or official notification
of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2021.
- Specialization in the area of Controls, Robotics, Power
Systems, Power Electronics, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning,
Internet of Things, Sensors, Signal Processing, or closely related
fields
- Record of or demonstrated potential for teaching at the college
level
- Record of or demonstrated potential for successful research,
scholarly and creative activities
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse
student population
Preferred Qualifications: - Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college
level
- Experience in teaching courses in the areas of Control Systems
or related fields
- Demonstrated ability and clear plans for the development of
research programs in Control Systems and Robotics or related
fields
- Demonstrated ability to supervise student projects including
theses
- Demonstrated ability to develop programs and
curriculum
- Demonstrated ability to actively participate in academic
governance
Duties: - Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in, or related to,
Control Systems and Robotics, as well as fundamental undergraduate
courses in Electrical Engineering. Mode of instruction may include
in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination
thereof.
- Develop curriculum
- Supervise graduate student theses
- Develop an ongoing research program which complements and
enhances research activities in electrical engineering and leads to
publications and external funding
- Engage in service to the department, college, university, and
community as appropriate
