COVID-19 Student Contract Tracer
Carroll University



Classification: Support Staff - Part-Time - 20 hours per week - Limited Term

Report To: Vice President for Student Affairs

Description: The COVID-19 Student Contact Tracer is responsible for coordinating the student contact tracing efforts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This position will be responsible for gathering information if a positive COVID-19 case is identified or direct contact is confirmed.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies a list of names and contacts of individuals to gather information on direct contact during the COVID-19 infectious period
  • Places phone calls to new diagnosed students and student close contacts
  • Educates contacts and cases on approved protocols to reduce the risk of spread
  • Collects and documents necessary information
  • Understands the signs, symptoms, and infections periods of COVID-19
  • Protects confidential and private information
  • Provides infectious and potentially infected individuals with resources and instructions on appropriate next steps
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Prior experience in higher education environment is preferred
  • Experience in healthcare, customer service, or related field required.
  • Contact tracer course completion, or the ability to complete within the first week of employment

    Technology Skills:
  • Willingness to learn how to utilize Medicat, an electronic health record system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

    Human Relations Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-pace environment and handle competing demands.
  • Ability to listen effectively, work independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the University mission.
