A crucial role in the area of Student Accounts/Billing as well as introductory information related to financial aid and financing an education.

Your Responsibilities:Daily Operational Tasks - Assist the office team in the daily operations included, but not limited to, processing
payments and the collection of accounts receivables ensuring compliance with institutional as well as federal policies. Outreach and communications may be via phone, email, or in person. This position also assists with data entry of payments and may be trained in health insurance procedures as well as Perkin Loan procedures.

Record-Keeping - Process weekly student refunds which are electronically shared with Finance;
  • Assist with accuracy check of student refunds questioning when appropriate;
  • Run the Title IV report which outlines all students' accounts with Title IV aid, confirm all refunds are processed in a timely manner and comply with Title IV regulations.
  • Oversee all our monthly payment plans. Act as a liaison between Emerson and Touchnet to assure the best customer service experience.


Counseling - Counsel prospective students, current students and parents (and others in the Emerson community) regarding payment of bills, payment plans and educational options, as well as introductory information related to financial aid.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with students and parents in a friendly, courteous manner.


Team Participation - Propose changes to current policies and procedures to increase productivity, when applicable.
  • Be a strong team player when it comes to suggestions for improvement and implement changes.
  • Respect diverse opinions and backgrounds to build an inclusive team.


Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in client accounts
You'll be preferred if you have:
  • Knowledge of financial aid, admissions, student accounts, or student services;
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Ability to understand college policies and regulations
  • Prior experience using an enterprise system (i.e. Banner, PeopleSoft)
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills


Grade of Position: A14E

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36.25

Hiring Range: $42,750.00 - $44,700.00
