The appointment may be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level commensurate with qualification and experience.

Job Scope: The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Ohio Northern University is seeking a tenure track faculty position for the 2021/2022 academic year, to begin August 18, 2021. Candidates from any specialty area within mechanical engineering will be considered.

Principle Responsibilities: Expectations include actively pursuing scholarly research and professional development opportunities. Teaching of introductory, college-wide courses as well as upper-level mechanical engineering courses is expected. ONU is part of the Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network and is committed to instilling the entrepreneurial mindset in our undergraduate engineering students.

Required Skills:

  • The applicant must be committed to teaching excellence in undergraduate education and must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Candidates should be committed to advancing the knowledge and practice of engineering pedagogy.

Minimum Qualifications: ABD in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Education (with a prior degree in mechanical engineering), or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Education (with a prior degree in mechanical engineering), or a related field is preferred, with all degree requirements completed before the date of employment. Industry experience, teaching experience, and professional licensure will be viewed favorably.
