CHAMPS Program Coordinator

Job Description:

The responsibilities of the CHAMPS Program Coordinator are to coordinate program activities; contribute to program planning; maintain communication with stakeholders; serve as a point of contact for questions; and provide additional resources as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and maintains participation in the program
  • Serves as a liaison with physicians, community agencies, and participating families – representing Score as part of outreach efforts
  • Report program highlights, progress, potential and existing challenges as related to the program
  • Evaluate and analyze the program under the supervision of the Director
  • Contribute to and support the development of funding proposals if available/appropriate
  • Contribute to Score 1 publications
  • Coordinate internal and external communications with community partners, schools and medical providers
  • Create and maintain schedule of program activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the organization


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Science, Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, Food Service Management or related degree. Equivalent years of experience may substitute for education.
  • 2 years of experience in providing nutrition counseling to school-aged children.
  • Minimum of one year experience working with children with childhood obesity.
  • One year experience working with low-income, multi-cultural families preferred and highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication (oral/written) and interpersonal skills required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Demonstrated computer ability, including proficiency in working with databases.
