Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job

Full-time tenure-track (9 month) position teaching graduate courses will begin Fall 2021. The main campus is located in Huntsville, TX. Educational Leadership doctoral courses are taught at The Woodlands Center in The Woodlands, TX. In addition to the 9-month contract, summer teaching opportunities may be available.

1. Teach in the online master’s program for the school leadership (principal) program and the face-to-face doctoral program in education leadership at the Woodlands campus (The Woodlands, TX).
2. Serve on dissertation committees.
3. Engage in scholarly research, writing, and professional presentations demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications and national conferences.
4. Work collaboratively with faculty, school districts, and other education institutions and agencies.
5. Serve in program, institutional, regional, state, and national service opportunities.
6. Engage in program advising and student recruitment efforts.
7. Collaborate on the growth of the programs in the Educational Leadership department.
8. Participate in professional organizations.

Educational Requirements for the Position

Earned Doctorate in educational leadership or related field.

Experience Required for the Position

1. Work experience in K12 schools or related agencies.
2. Demonstrated evidence of scholarly productivity.

Other Requirements for the Position

1. Preference will be given to candidates with at least three years of work experience in K-12 in a campus or district leadership position.
2. Preference will be given to candidates with certification as principal and/or superintendent
3. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching and/or working with diverse student populations.
4. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching adults effectively.
5. Preference will be given to candidates with an expertise in quantitative or qualitative methodologies that would enable them to conduct research and direct graduate students in conducting independent research.
6. Preference will be given to candidates with an ability to contribute to the national visibility of the department programs.
