Position Summary
The Department of Engineering Education ( DEE ) at University at Buffalo (UB) invites candidates to apply for a part time Adjunct Instructor in Technical Communication. The DEE was recently formed and will advance modern pedagogical tools and teaching methods including the field of online education. At the undergraduate level, the department offers a variety of SEAS courses including technical communication, engineering computations, statistics, and dynamics.
We are particularly looking for candidates who can operate effectively in a team environment and in a diverse community of students and faculty and share our vision of helping all constituents reach their full potential.
Candidates should have the ability to teach technical communication courses at the undergraduate and graduate level as needed. Essential functions are: demonstrate appropriate knowledge of subject; provide students with appropriate learning materials and expertise in assigned subjects; evaluate students’ performance and provide effective feedback to guide student learning and success; and contribute to maintaining an inclusive and collaborative environment.
This is a pooled posting, and positions are filled on an as needed basis.

Minimum Qualifications
For a position that requires teaching an undergraduate technical communication course a bachelor’s degree in English, Communication or a related field.
For a position that requires teaching a graduate technical communication course a bachelor’s degree in English, Communication or a related field with significant graduate course work or a master’s degree in English, Communication or a related field.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
For a position that requires teaching an undergraduate technical communication course a master’s degree in in English, Communication or a related field.
For a position that requires teaching a graduate technical communication course a PhD degree in English, Communication or a related field.
