Major Function: Tallahassee Community College invites applications for the position of Director of Assessment and Accreditation. The director will assist the Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness by providing administrative leadership for all assessment efforts on campus. The director will also coordinate continued compliance with SACSCOC principles and policies.  Primary duties will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Assist outcomes assessment on campus
  • Coordinate data on student learning and summarize results
  • Design and implement assessment and evaluation studies
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis
  • Keep the campus community knowledgeable about current assessment applications
  • Manage program review process
  • Coordinate SACSCOC site visits, mid-cycle reports, and other required reporting
  • Manage national and campus surveys 

Minimum requirements:  A master’s degree in Higher Education, Educational Research, Educational Leadership, or a related field and three years related experience in academic assessment, program evaluation and/or outcomes assessment. The doctorate degree is preferred, as well as experience in SACSCOC accreditation. 

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING: Ability to formulate and communicate complex academic assessment and improvement concepts and processes. Knowledge of assessment, evaluation, testing and measurement, and action research principles. Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Knowledge of surveying methods. Strong organizational, writing and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with faculty, administrators and staff. Ability to present to and train faculty and staff.
