Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job

The School of Nursing ( SON ) is seeking a nurse-educator, with professional and/or teaching experience in clinical settings. This position is a one-year position, funded through the CARES Act. There is a possibility of a second year, if funding is extended. Also, the School of Nursing seeks to make the Assistant Director of Clinical Education a permanent position pending regular funding.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include:
•Serve as a liaison between the SON and partner schools and facilities.
•Meet with the director one hour per week to provide updates on clinical and other nursing issues.
•Coordinate clinical and lab learning outcomes data collection with lab staff and SIM faculty.
•Coordinate clinical curriculum decisions and updates.
•Maintain relationships with clinical agencies and area schools of nursing to facilitate scheduling.
•Work with SIM faculty and Nursing Lab staff.
•Review SIM and lab software and resources with SIM faculty, nursing lab coordinator, and data analyst.
•Serve on SON Executive Committee.
•Assist the director in the administration of the SON .
•Assist with the evaluation of adjunct clinical faculty.
•Promote and cultivate a positive SON image to the university community and the public at large.
•Maintain at least three office hours per week.
•Review course syllabi.
•Manage the community advisory board.

Educational Requirements for the Position

Earned Masters in Nursing from an accredited institution; DNP or PhD preferred. Must hold an active, or be eligible for, an unencumbered Texas RN license.

Experience Required for the Position

•Evidence of College-level teaching, with preference at a 4 year University in a BSN program.
•Demonstrated involvement in professional service.
•Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and collegiality.
•Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.

Other Requirements for the Position

•Use of technology in instruction and/or practice, preferred.
•Experience with curriculum development preferred.
•For rank of Clinical Associate Professor, demonstrated record of high-quality teaching; and/or leadership experience in a clinical setting; potential for excellence in clinical scholarship and practice.

The School of Nursing is located at The Woodlands Center campus in The Woodlands, Texas. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a campus presence as part of the School of Nursing faculty.
