Assistant Professor of English - WVU-TECH (Beckley)
The College of Business, Humanities and Social Sciences at West Virginia University Institute of Technology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of English to complement the faculty in the multidisciplinary department of History, English and Creative Arts.
Responsibilities include teaching twelve undergraduate hours per semester, including technical writing. Ability to teach public speaking is desirable. The successful candidate will actively contribute to scholarly pursuits in English studies, to departmental initiatives, and to the intellectual and cultural life of the university. Additional responsibilities include committee assignments, participation in professional development, attending regularly scheduled faculty and department meetings, and other duties associated with a tenure-track faculty position.

A PhD in English is required, with an emphasis in Technical Writing or Composition and Rhetoric preferred. PhD must be conferred by the time of appointment. Candidates must exhibit evidence of effective teaching in composition courses at the college level and evidence of scholarly promise. Experience with online instructional technologies and teaching web classes is desirable.
