Position Summary

This position principally entails the development of methodology for the analysis of large data sets with applications to medicine and specifically addressing clinical research questions using Electronic Health Record ( EHR ) data.

Presentation of research results at national and international conferences is required. Collaborative opportunities under the guidance of the principal investigator, with relevant governmental and industrial partners, exist. This position carries no teaching, consulting or committee responsibilities.

This is a two year position (with a possible extension to a third year) in the Department of Biostatistics, School of Public Health & Health Professions at SUNY University at Buffalo. Appointment to second year and beyond depends on performance.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. In Statistics/Biostatistics or Computer Science/Machine Learning

Expertise in asymptotic theory, stochastic modelling, model assessment and selection, observational data analysis, computational machine learning methods, and parallel computing is desirable.

Strong programming skills (R, SAS, Matlab, Python)

Excellent oral and written communication skills
