Director, The School of Hospitality Business Search
The School of Hospitality Business in the Broad College of Business at Michigan State University (MSU) seeks nominations and applications for a new Director of the School to start in August 2021. The Director represents the School within the Broad College, the University, and external constituencies. The Director is part of the college's leadership team and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of school operations including: faculty and staff recruiting, development and retention, resource attainment, financial management, and stakeholder relationship management.

The School of Hospitality Business at MSU is recognized as a leader in teaching, research, and service and has been ranked #2 among all U.S. programs in "The Best Schools" and "College Choice," and ranked # 5 globally by "CEO World". The School has a 93-year history in hospitality business education; alumni who have shaped industry, and top-ranked faculty conduct research that is published and utilized throughout the world.

The School has an enrollment of approximately 550 undergraduates,11 tenure stream faculty, including three named endowed faculty, and has strengths in hospitality management, hospitality operations, and real estate investment management. Alumni hold leadership positions throughout the hospitality industry and are strong supporters of the School. Overall, the School has more than 10,000 alumni around the world and three alumni/industry advisory boards.

MSU seeks a leader who will set the course for the School's next 100 years. This leader will articulate and execute a vision that includes an active and diverse group of faculty, students, alumni, and industry leaders. As an innovative and entrepreneurial leader, the successful candidate will engage these constituencies to assemble the resources needed to execute a global vision for the School.

The ideal applicant has a doctoral degree with an academic/professional record consistent with an appointment to full professor with tenure. Candidates should have strong connections within the hospitality industry and a demonstrated record of accomplishment in one or both areas.

About the Eli Broad College of Business

The Broad College has 125 full-time faculty in five departments: Accounting and Information Systems, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management and one industry specific unit, The School of Hospitality Business. The work of the College is supported by a 100-person administrative staff and 50 academic specialists. Currently, some 5,122 students are admitted in the Broad College (approximately 3,900 undergraduates and 1230 graduate and doctoral students), making Broad one of the largest business colleges in the country.
