Anderson University and the College of Education invite
applications for a full-time, ten-month position in the College of
Education to serve as Director for our Doctor in Education (Ed.D.)
Program, at the rank of Associate/Full Professor in the Graduate
Studies department. The College of Education enrolls 500+ students,
employs 13 full-time faculty members, and is supported by 7
full-time staff members, in addition to part-time faculty and staff
members. Graduate Studies faculty teach primarily online in the
M.Ed. programs, and also at the University Center of Greenville for
the MAT Elementary Education program. Anderson University is
an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts
university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
The university seeks candidates with a strong Christian value
system, lifestyle, and commitment to the integration of faith and
learning.
Anderson University recognizes three paths for faculty employment:
annual appointment, professional path, and tenure track.
Faculty hired for annual appointment are evaluated on mission fit,
and teaching and learning. They begin employment at the rank of
instructor with the opportunity to promote to senior lecturer.
Faculty in the Professional Path focus on teaching and learning and
are evaluated on mission fit, teaching and learning, and service;
and they are able to promote through professorial ranks. After six
years of exemplary service, faculty on the Professional Path become
eligible for multi-year contracts. Faculty on tenure track
focus initially on teaching and learning, but they are evaluated on
mission fit, teaching and learning, service, and
scholarship. Tenure-track faculty promote through professorial
ranks and are eligible for tenure status in year six.
This full-time faculty position requires an earned terminal degree
in a field of education (Ph.D.or Ed.D.) and relevant experience in
one or more of the following areas: educational research, data
analysis, administration and supervision, and curriculum and
instruction. The preferred candidate will be expected to
demonstrate potential for teaching excellence in online settings,
extensive professional experience and some scholarly activity, and
an interest in serving the profession. Preference will be
given to applicants with graduate level teaching experience, P-12
experience, and a sufficient level of scholarship to warrant
tenure-track status. The ideal candidate will also have the ability
to develop curriculum, support post-graduate student scholarship,
and provide leadership in the development of new programs.
Review of applications will begin immediately with
preference given to candidates available to start in January
2021.
To ensure full consideration, please complete the online
application for faculty employment (https://andersonuniversity.edu/hr/apply),
