LSC-Houston North Fallbrook is the latest location of the newest college in the Lone Star College system. LSC-Houston North Fallbrook delivers higher education opportunities to a traditionally underserved area of Houston. The 55,000 square-foot facility offers 14 classrooms, two computer labs and two science labs for students to take core courses to earn Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees.

Job Description



PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Coordinator III, Learning Center provides oversight of daily operations to one or more Learning Centers or Tutoring Labs . L ead s, plan s, develop s, evaluat es and improve s assigned area . Assigned area and responsibilities will be extensive and/or highly specialized. R esponsible for the success of assigned area, ensuring smooth and efficient operations as well as compliance with policies, procedures and a variety of local, state and federal regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Direct daily operations of assigned area ; M aintain records. Recruit, hire, s chedule and prioritize work and activities and organize s training materials for tutors ; M aintain current knowledge base of assigned area and acts as a point of contact for internal and external customers
  • Evaluate success factors for assigned area and create plans for improvement ; R esponsible for ensuring and maintaining compliance with local/state/federal compliance of processes and documentation ; Assist with or lead opportunities to develop new programs in support of assigned area
  • Recruit, hire, s upervise, trai n and develop department staff
  • Develop reports utilizing independent research and presents findings to internal/externa l constituents (may include LSC M anage rs /Executives, community members, and/ or outside groups and organizations )
  • Coordinate various department and leadership calendars and schedules ; Plan, schedule and coordinate various meetings/seminars/events, including site selection and preparation, marketing and training materials, and general support
  • Monitor and control resources such as office supplies and equipment needed within the department ; Submit requisitions, and review and approve/den y purchase requests in accordance with the budget ; Manage the department budget
  • Update the campus website with a Co ntent Management System
  • May m aintain and troubleshoot low-level software and technology for individual learner
  • May serve as a t utor in appropriate discipline
  • Responsible for other reason able related duties as assigned

    PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

    The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

    WORK SCHEDULD AND CONDITIONS :

    • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
    • Interface with i nternal and external contacts as needed to carry ou t the functions of the position
    • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with min imal exposure to safety hazards
    • Work schedule may include evenings and weekends


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of related work experience, or an equivalent combinat ion of education and experience


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's d egree in field specific to area of specialty.
    • Previous experience tutoring in field specific to assigned area.
    • Bilingual in Spanish


    Salary

    Hiring salary range is $ 46,300 - $ 53,245

    Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
