LSC-Houston North Fallbrook is the latest location of the newest college in the Lone Star College system. LSC-Houston North Fallbrook delivers higher education opportunities to a traditionally underserved area of Houston. The 55,000 square-foot facility offers 14 classrooms, two computer labs and two science labs for students to take core courses to earn Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees.

Job Description



PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Manager, School Partnerships is r esponsible for managing college, high school, and business relations. Coordinates dual credit and other major projects with area high schools which includes P-16 initiatives, testing, and workforce programs. Under the direction of Director, works with dea ns, department chairs, various LSC departments, and high school personnel to ensure the instructional quality of dual credit programs and other school partnerships. Assists with development, implementation, marketing, and evaluation of school partnerships. Part icipates in recruitment efforts and serves as a liaison for the college's Outreach program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Hires, supervises and evaluates full-time and part-time support staff
  • Provides leadership in informing high school and college participants of dual credit rules and policies; ensures that necessary documentation and agreements are kept current and takes a lead role in communicating changes to counselors and faculty
  • Coordinates periodic campus visits for school counselors, dual credit faculty, and other school personnel and represents the college at ISD functions and LSCS meetings
  • Provides leadership to facilitate the expansion of course offerings and enrollments for dual credit and dual enrollment with high schools. Assists in developing guidelines for dual credit offerings for both college and high school personnel
  • Researches and coordinates the development of innovative school partnerships, bridge programs, and grants
  • Acts as a liaison with the Student Services staff to help coordinate recruitment, admissions, and testing at area high schools as well to develop forms and guidelines for dual credit with home schooled students
  • Works with College Relations to develop marketing materials
  • Collaborates with deans and department chairs to resolve implementation issues at the high schools
  • Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned


  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Must maintain current knowledge of academic and technical curriculum and instruction and apply that knowledge to all activities
    • Demonstrated strength in project management

    • Proficiency with common office software including Microsoft Office products


    PHYSICAL ABILITIES :

    The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

    WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

    • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
    • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
    • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience


    Salary

    Hiring salary range is $46, 300 - $53, 245

    Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
