Position Summary:
Under the general supervision and direction of the Department Chair, this position is an academic department administrator that serves as a resource for the Department of Counseling Psychology. This position will be responsible for managing daily financial, HR and office management activities while providing excellent customer support to faculty, staff, and students. This position will take ownership in developing and monitoring annual and summer budgets to help the department meet its mission and vision, ensuring continuity of daily operations by managing payroll and benefits for the department as a whole, and collaborating with other research and academic units to maintain compliance with state, university, and federal laws.

Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
Minimum of two years' experience in administrative duties. Demonstrated experience in process improvement and delivering novel solutions preferred
Strong customer service skills, especially with a willingness to decode ambiguous information and work with different groups to find mutually-beneficial solutions
Knowledge of managing multilayered budgets and financial operations in complex regulatory environments; working experience with state/UW systems preferred
Experience in establishing and sustaining collaborative working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups; experience working with university faculty/staff/students preferred
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, oftentimes with shifting deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and engagement applied to areas of higher education and customer service
