Job Description:


To supervise wedding rehearsals and weddings. This is a part-time, year-round (mostly seasonal), position. Weddings normally take place between Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Rehearsal times vary.


  • Organize, facilitate and lead wedding rehearsals.
  • Provide Mercy hospitality to all attending the service.
  • Act as liaison with bridal party, wedding guests and visiting clergy at rehearsal and wedding.
  • Serve as sacristan and assist visiting clergy with wedding ceremony preparations including mass set-up and break down.
  • Serve as a Eucharistic minister, as needed.
  • Ensure that marriage license and church documents are all completed prior to clergy departure.
  • Ensure time frames are kept (approximately one hour for rehearsal and three hours for wedding and pictures).
  • Ensure that Our Lady of Mercy Chapel is clean and secured after the rehearsal and wedding ceremonies.






The incumbent is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.



Must be a Catholic in good standing, and a Eucharistic minister, or willing to become one. Be conversant with the Catholic wedding ceremony. Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Must be able to work independently and with a diverse population. Must be able to manage all situations calmly and professionally using sound judgement.
