Job Description

Description:

This position is responsible for executing specific Post Award management duties for R&l's Office of Sponsored Research Administration including closeout, assessment of time and effort certifications, travel and PCard review and approvals (through Concur), cost share commitments, cash handling and record retention.

Responsibilities:
  • Management of closeout procedures for all sponsored projects according to regulatory guidelines, including but not limited to:
    • final verification of expenditures occurring during period of performance,
    • coordinate with departmental administrators to ensure that all deficits and encumbrances are cleared in a timely manner,
    • audit expenditures lo ensure that final indirect costs were properly recorded,
    • create and post correcting entries lo align final budget with actual expenditures in financial system, and
    • ensure all contractual reporting obligations have been met.
  • Assess and monitor institutional commitment in support of cost share/match in accordance with contractual obligations, lo include: a) collaboration with post-award administrators lo initial cost share/match and ensure supporting documentation is properly recorded in the official systems of record, b) prepare monthly financial reports on institution's progress on meeting cost share commitments and advise on post-award spending and commitment activity.
  • Responsible for records management of sponsored project files, including adherence of University retention period regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Grant Administrator I
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
  • Two (2) years of related experience.
  • Additional education may be used as a substitution for the minimum experience requirement:
  • Masters degree in a business-related field


Grant Administrator II
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
  • Five (5) years of related experience.
  • Additional education may be used as a substitution for the minimum experience requirement:
  • Masters degree in a business-related field and three (3) years of related experience.


Other Skills
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability lo multi-task, work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with frequent interruptions and work as an effective member of a learn.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and customer service skills lo be able lo communicable courteously and effectively with students, faculty, staff, and public.
  • Detailed-oriented with a high degree of accuracy maintaining records lo be able to consistently meet reporting and other assigned deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.
  • Experience in grants and contract accounting in a university setting.
  • Certified Research Administrator or Certified Public Accountant
  • Audit experience.


Salary:
  • $4,250 - $4,833.34 monthly ($51,000 - $58,000 annual)
