Act 264 of the 2013 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature
requires unclassified employees who earn $100,000 or more annually
to provide proof, within 30 days of hire, that they have a valid
driver's license and all vehicles registered in their name are
registered in the State of Louisiana. Successful candidates
impacted by Act 264 will be expected to comply with these
requirements as a condition of employment.
EDUCATION and REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Experience Required: A minimum of 10 years responsible
management and supervisory experience in one or more areas of
student services; or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Minimum Education Required: An earned doctoral degree in: Student
Affairs, Educational Administration, Counseling and Guidance or
other related field
Preferred Experience: Preferred experience as a Dean of
Students,
Preferred experience at a regional institution

Serves as advisor to the President on campus issues through
membership on the President's Executive Team and President's
Cabinet
Serves on the University Council
Works in conjunction with academic affairs, business affairs,
external and enrollment affairs and athletics to accomplish
university goals
Serves as the chief student liaison for students and student needs
with university and general community
Serves as advisor for the Student Government Association
Accountable for ensuring that affirmative action, equal
opportunity, and diversity are integrally tied to all actions and
decisions in areas of responsibility.

Establishing strategic direction and leading the Student Affairs
organization to achieve both immediate and long-term institutional
goals. This includes working with the President and Provost to
shape and implement key initiatives focused on: Student engagement,
housing, ensuring the University is meeting the particular needs of
first-generation students and students from underrepresented
groups, and deepening the focus on service and comprehensive
wellness support programs
Anticipating the evolution of student needs and proactively
developing programs and policies related to student support and
student engagement
Collaborating with and providing thought partnership to leaders
across the University in all areas of student engagement including
extra- and co-curricular programming, crisis management, and
conflict resolution
Working with the President, Provost and VP of Academic Affairs, and
the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer to design and implement
innovative strategies that lead to student success in a welcoming
and authentically diverse community of learning and social
interaction in which all perspectives are valued
Working closely with the Executive Vice President of Enrollment and
External Affairs to create a seamless student experience from the
first communication with the University to post-graduation
plans
Working with the Vice President of Finance and Administration to
maximize revenue, prioritize capital improvements and provide
fiscal input for the unit
Working with the advancement professional to develop philanthropic
efforts for student affairs
Partnering with the University leadership team, faculty, students,
and staff to pursue opportunities to strengthen the University's
efforts to be an inclusive community
Creating a dynamic and productive environment for a group of
experienced and diverse student affairs professionals within the
Vice President's organization
Serving as a visible model of educational and institutional
leadership for students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, potential
donors and the higher education community
