Family Science & Social Work: Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure track) to teach graduate and undergraduate social work courses; advise students; develop research and publications agenda; seek external grant funding; be engaged in service at the departmental, College, University, and professional discipline levels.
The Department of Family Science and Social Work (FSW) promotes a comprehensive understanding of the interconnected relationships between theory, research, and practice (e.g., prevention, intervention) by incorporating knowledge, values, and skills from the fields of social work, human development, and family science. Our programs prepare students to ethically respond to the complex needs of individuals, families, communities, groups, and organizations, from a global, social justice orientation. Faculty value the role of intersectionality, positionality, and critical reflexivity in their work.
Required: PhD in social work by the date of appointment. Position not eligible for H1B sponsorship.
Appointments at the Assistant Professor level have an emerging publication record and the potential for external funding.
Appointment at the Associate Professor level already have an established publication record and research agenda, including evidence of external funding.
Desired: Consideration may be given to candidates with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and social justice for oppressed and marginalized populations, as well as an awareness of intersectionality, positionality, and critical reflexivity in their work; a research and/or practice focus on trauma-informed or trauma-responsive care; and social work practice experience is valued.
