Position Summary:

The Wisconsin School of Business seeks a full-time, nine-month, tenure track appointment to begin August 23, 2021, or later. The position would be responsible for teaching graduate and undergraduate students in Business Analytics and related fields at the Wisconsin School of Business, conducting scholarly research and performing service. The position will ultimately reside in a single academic department (https://wsb.wisc.edu/faculty-research/academic-departments) based on the candidate's research program. Business Analytics has a presence across all programs at the Wisconsin School of Business, including a Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics and an M.S. in Business Analytics. The School has prioritized this area and is working closely with industry to enhance the analytics content offered throughout the school. The University of Wisconsin-Madison has more generally promoted this field by creating a Data Science Institute, and by combining separate departments into a new School of Computer, Data and Information Sciences. The Wisconsin School of Business currently enrolls about 2,600 Undergraduate students, 450 Postgraduate students, and about 50 Doctoral students.

Principal Duties:

- Create and maintain a strong program of research
- Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in the Wisconsin School of Business on topics in big data and cloud technologies, machine learning, and other areas in analytics.
- Elevate the intellectual accomplishments through research, including own publication record, successful grant writing, and notable outreach in the domain of Business Analytics within the Wisconsin School of Business
- Department, School, and University service is expected as appropriate

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Ph.D. in Information Systems, Operations, Marketing, Accounting, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or related fields, with research interests in Business Analytics, is required by August 23, 2021.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Candidates will have research underway that is likely to result in one or more publications in top tier journals and will have presentation skills that suggest future excellence in teaching.
