Position Summary:

The School of Medicine and Public Health's Information Technology (SMPH IT) group seeks an enthusiastic Systems Analyst with the ability to take initiative and produce results, who can deliver solutions to the SMPH leadership and community that are aligned with customer goals and objectives. This position will primarily work with data and systems of the Wisconsin Partnership Program (WPP) which was established to manage and distribute funds from the conversion of Blue Cross and Blue Shield United of Wisconsin to improve the health of the public. The Systems Analyst reports to the SMPH IT Manager of Applications Support and works closely with WPP Administrative Manager, who directs and coordinates the incumbent's responsibilities and priorities.

In alignment with the Wisconsin Idea, the Partnership Program achieves its mission through investments in innovative research and education programs and community partnerships. Since its inception in 2004, over 540 grants totaling more than $253 million have been awarded to community organizations and to UW System faculty. Currently, the Partnership Program, through its two governance committees, the Oversight and Advisory Committee and the Partnership Education and Research Committee, allocates approximately $16 million for awards annually.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required. Degree preferred from one of the following areas: computer science, information science, management information systems, business, or related field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

-Experience working in a functional/business analyst role, preferably in higher education or medical school environment. 3+ years required. 5+ years preferred.
-Demonstrated ability to work in a team with numerous and varied customers to identify requirements, deliver solid and sustainable technical solutions requiring strong problem solving skills.
-Demonstrated experience working with end users and with the vendor as needed as part of the problem-solving process when supporting applications.
-Demonstrated experience with grants management software like Blackbaud Grantmaking preferred.

Additional Information:

The ideal candidate will be someone who is self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision - this is a challenging and rewarding position working with very bright people, with endless learning opportunities. This position reports to the Educational Informatics Manager.

It is critical that the Systems Analyst is able to work effectively in the SMPH IT team and Wisconsin Partnership Program environment, as well as maintain a high level of productivity when working independently. The selected candidate must be committed to providing quality customer service to the faculty, staff, and students at the School of Medicine and Public Health.
