The Experimental Humanities Collaborative Network (EHCN) seeks a versatile, creative, and detail-oriented Administrative Coordinator and Liaison for International Programs. This person will be an integral part of a team based out of the Center for Experimental Humanities (https://eh.bard.edu/) at Bard College, New York. The option of working primarily remotely may be considered for candidates located on the East Coast of the United States (to better coordinate with international time zones). This is a full-time, exempt position. The successful candidate will excel at working in a community that is broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation and religion.

The Experimental Humanities Collaborative Network (EHCN) is a new initiative funded by the Open Society University Network (https://osun.bard.edu/) aimed at supporting innovative, interdisciplinary pedagogy that emphasizes skills-based learning with a range of technologies, critical reflection, and social justice. The role of the Administrative Coordinator and Liaison will be to support the EHCN in building and maintaining meaningful collaborations across an international network of 11 institutions. The position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, both flexibility and a self-driven work ethic, appreciation for the arts and humanities, and a passion for learning new things. The ability to collaborate with a diversity of partner institutions on the day-to-day administration and coordination of linked network courses, conferences, workshops, events, and research projects will be critical. Experience with budget tools and reporting, travel planning, social media, and the ability to produce polished, professional written communications to both students and faculty is necessary. We especially welcome candidates that are interested in how emerging technologies intersect with social implications relating to gender, race, class, sexual orientation and other categories and/or intersections of identity. This is a 10-month position beginning in November 2020 (as soon as possible) with the potential for renewal on a full-year basis.

The Open Society University Network (OSUN) is a new global network of educational institutions that integrates learning and the advancement of knowledge across geographic and demographic boundaries, promotes civic engagement on behalf of open societies, and expands access to higher education for underserved communities. Bard College’s main campus is in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY with 1900 undergraduate students; the campus also features multiple graduate programs. Bard College is a private institution working in the public interest. • Organize the practical side of conferences, meetups, and other EH Network travel.
  • Assist with the programmatic development and organization of EH research projects, campus events, and other faculty and student-led initiatives.

  • Help to support and maintain human partnerships across 11 institutions.
  • Assist with advising and connecting faculty and staff at each site as they develop and debug novel assignments, courses, curricula, workshops, events, and projects, tailoring advice in each case so that the tools/technology is always in line with the content of the course, event, or project.
  • Assist in working with offices at partner OSUN institutions to enhance curricular continuity and student experience across the network.
  • Assist in the management of Annandale-based International student experience.
