Position Summary
The individual in this position is primarily responsible for teaching within the occupational therapy graduate program and pursuing and on-going program of scholarship. This individual is expected to maintain currency in content areas as related to their teaching assignment. In addition, participation in on-going professional development is expected, along with participation in university and professional service that support the on-going operation of the occupational therapy program, the health professions department, and the university.
Required Qualifications

· Current NBCOT certification
· Licensed or eligible for licensed as an occupational therapy in the state of Wisconsin
· Have a terminal scholarly degree (PhD, DSc, EdD, or equivalent) by start date
· Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills
· Developing research agenda
IAS Required Qualifications
· Current NBCOT certification
· Licensed or eligible for license as an occupational therapist in the state of Wisconsin
· Minimum of a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy by start date
· Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications

· Evidence of academic teaching experience in higher education
· Clinical experience as an occupational therapist
· Possess excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, organizational and time management skills

IAS Preferred Qualifications
· 3 + years clinical experience as an occupational therapist
· Graduate level teaching experience

These are the job duties required for the position.
Responsibility Statement
Instruction and Assessment of Students (Tenure track or IAS)
Duties to Support Responsibility
Tenure Track (50% Instruction) IAS (80% Instruction)
• Develop syllabi to meet content objectives assigned as part of the curriculum design.
• Develop course content and teaching methods in compliance with curriculum design and ACOTE standards
• Provide classroom instruction including lectures, labs, active learning assignments, etc.
• Develop and implement methods to assess student learning, course effectiveness, and teaching effectiveness.
• Collect SEI scores for each class each semester
• Update courses annually incorporating collected assessment information
• Work in collaboration with the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator to develop objectives for Level I Fieldwork, and support student preparation for Level II Fieldwork.
• Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students.
• Maintain student records, e.g., grades, advising, attendance, student professional development, etc., and report information as needed.
• Maintain labs, e.g., ordering supplies, updating manuals, etc., as appropriate for teaching assignment.
• Collaborate as needed with other programs housed in the HSC for physical (room, equipment, etc.) and educational purposes (joint classes, etc.).
• Advise occupational therapy students as needed for coursework.

Tenure Track (30% Scholarship and Professional Development) IAS (5% Scholarship and Professional Development)
Faculty are expected to have an ongoing record of scholarship consistent with institutional decisions related to retention, tenure, and promotion. Scholarly pursuits shall be judged on the quality and quantity of contributions and include scholarship of discovery, teaching, and engagement.
Evidence of scholarship includes, but is not limited to:
• Research articles or abstracts submitted and/or published

• Professional platform or poster presentations at peer-reviewed conferences

Professional Development:
