Brief statement of duties:

Brief statement of duties

This position will be responsible for teaching, scholarship, and service respectively in the fields of Clinical Laboratory Science and Diagnostic Genetics. Areas of emphasis will include immunohematology, clinical chemistry, molecular diagnostics but individuals with experience in other CLS disciplines are encouraged to apply. Course assignments will be in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Responsibilities will include: teach (traditional and online courses), participating in curriculum development, scholarly activities, student advisement and recruitment, collaboration with clinical affiliated hospitals, as well as service and professional duties.

Minimum qualifications:

Required education

Master's Degree

Discipline/degree area

Clinical Laboratory Science or closely related field.

Required specialized training/certifications

MLS/MT (ASCP) certification or other equivalent or higher certification. PhD or equivalent degree prefered.

Required minimum work experience

two years of clinical laboratory experience.

Knowledge, skills, abilities or attributes required for satisfactory performance of the position duties

Knowledge of clinical laboratory science and medical genetics.

Ability to participate in curriculum development and delivery for undergraduate and graduate education.

Ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate student research projects.

Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum design.

Teaching and instruction for individuals and groups.

Assessment of outcomes.

Ability to work effectively with others in productive ways.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ablility to manage one's own time and that of others.

Additional desirable qualifications:

Additional desirable qualifications

University teaching experience in a clinical laboratory disciplines.

Background in clinical chemistry and immuno-hematology, microbiology, and immunology.

Experience in developing or teaching courses online.

Evidence of research and scholarly productivity.

Record of professional development.
