About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Associate Director for Pre-Award Administration at the College of Science, the Senior Pre-Award Grants Administrator provides Pre-Award support to a designated portfolio of faculty with a complex and diversified portfolio of research activities.

Responsibilities:
Working closely with faculty, the Sr. Pre-Award Grants Administrator ensures research proposals submission in a timely manner and in compliance with announcement, agency, federal government, and Northeastern University policies and regulations. The Sr. Pre-Award Grants Administrator shall be an expert partner for faculty researchers, ensuring the timely internal routing and approval of proposal packages. The Sr. Pre-Award Grants Administrator works closely with the post-award team, faculty, and the Northeastern Research Enterprise to ensure a seamless, timely and successful lifecycle of the research administration process. Acting with minimum supervision, the Sr. Pre-Award Grants Administrator is an independent problem solver, who takes initiative to resolve questions and move processes forward. The Sr. Pre-Award Grants Administrator will support College efforts to create an environment of research excellence by contributing to PI training sessions and materials on successful proposal creation, executing grant prospect research, and maintaining clear tracking of all proposals from portfolio PIs. The Sr. Pre-Award Grants Administrator participates in outreach activities to educate faculty and administrators to improve the success rate of COS proposals. This position will establish and implement submission procedures relating to grant and proposal development. Participate in development and implementation of training and education programs that promote a clearer understanding of the grants management process.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a preference in accounting or business administration and 3-5 years of experience in grant administration in an academic or non-profit environment. Comprehensive knowledge of federal regulations and experience in managing compliance and interpreting and applying university and sponsor policies and procedures. Experience with ePaws, electronic grants administration and submission systems such as grants.gov, ASSIST, eRA commons, FastLane - Research.gov, and similar systems. Knowledge of federal/university guidelines, policies and procedures. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a high volume, deadline driven environment. Strong analytical, computer and interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
