Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled with a start date for the position of August 2021.  Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and/or Genetics.

Qualifications

A terminal degree in a field closely related to the discipline and previous college teaching experience are required.  Subject areas of teaching that are of particular importance to the department include courses in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, and others that complement the pre-health profession related curriculum.  The search committee is especially interested in candidates who, through their teaching, scholarship, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. The Department of Biology is interested in candidates who have an understanding of the barriers facing women and people of color in higher education and bring a prospective that comes from a non-traditional educational background or understanding of the experiences under-represented populations. As such, applicants may include in their cover letter information about how they will further this objective.

Duties

Duties of the position include teaching 21 credit hours, supervising undergraduate research projects, academic advising, active participation in departmental, school, and university service, active participation in the department's assessment program, and in student recruiting and retention efforts for the college and the university.
