Assistant Professor of Digital Humanities (tenure-track)
The Department of English at the University of Notre Dame invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track position in the digital humanities. We prefer to appoint an assistant professor, although for exceptional candidates we will consider appointments at the tenured associate or full professor level. We are looking for a literary scholar with demonstrated expertise in an aspect of digital humanities broadly construed, potentially including any of the following methods or approaches: history of text technologies / media archaeologies; critical digital studies; emerging media forms; cultural analytics/computational methods for interpretation; scholarly public engagement. We are eager to consider scholars whose work expands the archive by considering the experience of under-represented communities or literary traditions of the Global South, although other historical and generic areas of focus are welcome. Candidates may be asked to provide additional materials later in the review process, including a writing sample (or equivalent access to works of digital scholarship) and a dossier of references (or for senior candidates, the names of referees).
