Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities
The Sr. Research Associate will support research under the supervision of Dr. Bernard Fuemmeler. The primary responsibility of the position is to monitor day-to-day project activities and monitor data collection. He/she will take the lead role in study recruitment, implementation and retention, overseeing research assistants and graduate assistants. He/she will be responsible for the database development, management and statistical programming and analyses. Wil prepare the IRB documents for approval including amendments, continuing reviews. Provide data in tables, plots and graphs for publications and grant submissions. Develop applications for participant tracking and design tools to support data collection. Lead and collaborate on developing scientific products, such as scientific papers and manuscripts. Assist the PI with grant writing for future proposals.
Minimum Hiring Standards
- Familiarity with the research process and principles of research design
- Understanding of health services research and other outcomes-oriented health research methods.
- Extensive knowledge and skills with data management, integration, analysis and technical proficiency with SAS and other software and programming languages, such as SQL, Stata, ArcGIS, Access, Excel, Cognos.
-Experience using software applications such as Redcap and Qualtrics for participant tracking and data collection preferred.
-Excellent communication skills, team-based project experience, and ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment required.
-Significant experience working in research environment or health care organization required.
Preferred Hiring Standards
PhD in quantitative psychology, biostatistics, epidemiology, or behavioral/public health science preferred (or Masters in Public Health or related field with equivalent experience)
