The Department of Physical Therapy in the Congdon School of Health Sciences at High Point University announces a search for a faculty member with expertise in human neuroscience and neuroanatomy. This faculty member may either be on a tenure or clinical track and rank will be commensurate with experience. The Department of Physical Therapy at High Point University offers all of the resources of a research-intensive institution with the quality of life of a small, private institution. We offer two outstanding laboratory spaces in the Human Biomechanics and Physiology Laboratory (HBAPL) and the Virtual Reality and Clinical Gait Analysis Laboratory (VRCGAL). The HBAPL is a 16,000 square foot facility which includes 48, 3D motion capture cameras strategically placed to include coverage of the hardwood court, running and turf functional areas, 14 tri-axial force platforms, a high speed, instrumented force treadmill, integrated wireless EMG, pressure distribution systems, and a DEXA scanner. The VRCGAL has a virtual reality treadmill, an overhead body support device, exoskeleton, and a forceplate mat. In addition, a 500 square foot basic neuroscience research laboratory is also available with the potential to be upfitted to meet the applicant’s research needs.

Requirements of this position are as follows:
- Earned PhD or other advanced doctorate
- Experience teaching neuroscience and neuroanatomy
- History of scholarship Preferred qualifications:
- Active research agenda
- Experience teaching clinical content
- Licensed physical therapist
- ABPTS Board Certified in Neurology
The successful candidate will be expected to teach neuroanatomy and neuroscience in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Additional teaching will be negotiated based on contemporary content expertise and curricular needs.
