Postdoctoral Associate



Summary

The Postdoctoral Associate will study the mechanisms underlying myelin development and repair using mouse models in vivo. The focus of the lab is to identify the novel molecular signaling pathways and regulation in glial cell development and associated disorders using molecular, cellular, physiological, and neurobehavioral approaches. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a proven record of research accomplishments, have expertise in working with mice, and a strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology.

Job Duties
  • Work with mice
  • Use molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology techniques
  • Plan, direct and conduct specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluate and analyze data.
  • May establish new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarize research findings and publish results in research journals.
  • May be responsible for laboratory operations.
  • May supervise research staff.
  • Participate in research grant preparation, manuscript writing and presentation of research results at professional conferences.


Minimum Qualifications
  • MD or Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent written/oral communication and organizational skills are required, and the candidate must work effectively in a team environment.
