Job Summary

The Staff Dentist position on the Oral Health on Wheels Mobile Dental Unit is for 2-3 (Wednesdays) each fall and spring semester. The staff dentist is an integral team member with the dental hygiene faculty in treating patients scheduled for care in the mobile clinic. The staff dentist works with lead dental hygiene faculty in the process of dental hygiene care to underserved populations. Duties include evaluation of health records, restorative examinations, assessment and grading of radiographic surveys, expanded functions and as necessary, palliative treatment procedures. A pool of DDS faculty adds to the mobile clinic enriching education gained by dental hygiene students when treating special needs and underserved populations. Qualified applicants should have the ability to work with a foreign language interpreter, experience treating diverse underserved populations, and the ability to guide students as they learn the process of dental hygiene care to meet performance requirements.

DDS License
Kansas dental license
Ability to mentor students with constructive feedback
Minimum of two years clinical practice experience
