Job Posting Details

Since its establishment in 1991, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has positioned itself as an international university with emphasis on both teaching and research.  Its success in higher education is driving its leadership in the development of China’s innovation-driven Greater Bay Area (GBA) with a new campus in Guangzhou (GZ), Mainland China, due to open in the Fall of 2022 admitting research postgraduate students only in the first phase of the development.
With English as the medium of instruction and administration, the University is inviting applications for a Teaching-track Faculty position to deliver the EAP/ESP curriculum for research postgraduate students at the Clear Water Bay and possibly the GZ campuses.  Applicants are required to indicate their willingness to work at the Guangzhou campus when it is ready for operation in 2022.  More information about HKUST (GZ) is available at http://gz.ust.hk.
Applicants should have a master’s degree in TESOL, applied linguistics or language education, and preferably a recognized language teaching qualification.  They should also have either a PhD/EdD or experience in teaching academic English to postgraduate students. (Duration: 1 - 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of a 2-year contract.

Application Procedure
In support of a green work environment, we accept applications submitted online only.  To apply, please complete an online application form through the HKUST Careers website (https://hkustcareers.ust.hk) and return it online to the Human Resources Office on or before Thursday, 8 October 2020.  Applicants will receive an acknowledgement by email upon successful submission.  We thank applicants for their interest, but advise that only shortlisted candidates will be notified of the result of the application.
