The Department of Psychology at Florida Southern College invites applications for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor of Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Director of the graduate program in this area. Ideally, this position will begin January 2021, but no later than July 2021. Primary responsibilities include directing an already-approved M.S. program in I/O scheduled to launch Fall 2021, mentorship for graduate and undergraduate research, and advising for students who are aspiring to careers in I/O Psychology and related fields. Teaching responsibilities include courses in I/O Psychology at the graduate level and other undergraduate courses in areas of need or interest. A strong quantitative background and teaching knowledge of statistics is also preferred.

The Ph.D. in Psychology is required. The successful candidate will possess a passion for teaching, collegiality, and concern for students, all of which should be reflected in the candidate’s application. While promoting active, engaged learning is of primary importance, a specific commitment to conducting collaborative research with students is also desirable. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain an appropriate scholarly agenda and serve on college committees.
