Position Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor
Salary: $40.00 per hour
Qualifications:
New York State Registered Nurse with documentation of at least two years of experience caring for the elderly and/or chronically ill preferable in a nursing home and/or long term care facility; demonstrated competency to teach adult learners as documented by at least one of the following:
- Certification to teach Nurse Aide or Practical Nursing; OR
- Two years of experience teaching nurse aides in a residential health care facility; OR
- Three years of experience teaching nursing or nursing related programs to adults in an academic setting approved by the NYS Commissioner of Education; OR
- Completion of the NYS approved “Train the Trainer” program.
The successful candidate will have e xperience working with diverse populations; demonstrated knowledge of internet navigation, email and computer skills.
Duties:
MVCC seeks a non-credit health instructor to teach the New York State approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course. Instructor may teach all or part of the lecture and laboratory practice training, and will assist with delivery of the clinical training in the student supervised clinical work experience located in the long-term care setting. This training is 120 hours of lecture and clinical experience.
