The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences and Neuroscience Program at Colgate University invite applications for a tenure-track position in the area of neuropsychopharmacology at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in the fall semester of 2021. The specific line of research in that area is open, but experimental research with animals is preferred. Completion of a Ph.D. is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire. Colgate is a highly selective liberal arts college where excellence in teaching and research are expected and supported. The appointee will join a neuroscience and psychological science faculty that are deeply committed to a strong, research-oriented program and to a curriculum that integrates psychological and neuroscience perspectives. The teaching load is equivalent to five courses per year. Teaching responsibilities are likely to include staff-taught courses (e.g., Introduction to Neuroscience, Neuroscience Research Methods, Biological Psychology, or Statistics), upper-level courses in the candidate’s specialty area, and supervision of senior thesis work (which normally counts as one course per year). The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum.
