Job Description:

Test Technician (2 positions)

Summary: The Test Technician participates in the administration and management of a variety of college testing services, to include the planning, scheduling, and administration of many different types of tests for both academic and certification purposes. The Test Technician works closely with instructors from various academic departments, students and college staff in Student Affairs. This position reports to the Director, Testing Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Serves as departmental receptionist; answers telephones, provides general information regarding tests, schedules tests and checks students in for tests.

Administers a wide variety of tests including, but not limited to, PERT, TABE, HESI-A2, ATI TEAS, GED and industry certification exams (MSSC, FTCE, FCB, PROV, etc.).

Administers departmental exams and distance learning (eLearning) tests for faculty.

Establishes and maintains testing files/records; updates records as required.

Processes completed tests for return to faculty and other institutions and organizations.

Monitors test rooms to maintain test security and integrity.

Assists with problem resolutions encountered during the testing process.

Maintains strict security of test materials and ensures confidentiality of test scores and other related information.

Provides excellent customer service to faculty, staff, students and the public.

Exhibits a high level of professionalism in the administration of position duties and responsibilities.

Supports the effective link between student services and academic programs.

Responsible for knowing and conforming to all safety practices and regulations that apply to this specific area and position. Unsafe conditions should be reported to the immediate supervisor and to the Pensacola State College Police Department/Public Safety.

In-district and overnight travel may be required.

Some evening and/or weekend work hours may be required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

Interpret college policies and procedures.

Demonstrate ability to understand and work with various computer programs and software (database, spreadsheet, word processing, scanning).

Display strong verbal and written communication skills.

Display excellent customer service skills, including the ability to handle situations of a sensitive nature.

Display ability to operate office equipment, including computer, typewriter, fax machine, copier machine, printers and calculators.

Annual Salary: $21,292.00 ($10.88/hour)

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited institution with a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent and one (1) year experience in testing services or a related field. Proven skills working with computer-based programs, operations and software required. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree and three (3) years of experience in testing services or related field.
