ADMISSIONS AND INFORMATION SPECIALIST

The Admissions and Information Specialist position is a full-time career service position. The Admissions and Information Specialist will perform highly responsible administrative duties requiring detailed knowledge of college admissions policies, general enrollment requirements as well as detailed rules, regulations, and requirements as established by law. Additionally, the Admissions and Information Specialist will provide basic financial aid and testing information and student resource information to prospective students. The specialist shall review and process admissions applications, and take independent action to locate information and resolve problems. The Admissions and Information Specialist must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with employees and the public. This position requires availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends during peak registration periods. This position reports to the Director of Admissions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree; or graduation from high school or GED equivalency and two years of experience in a collegiate student services office setting required. Exceptional customer service skills are required . Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer experience in post-secondary education related to the college recruiting and admissions experience. Work experience that documents keen attention to detail, the ability to utilize various technologies, and knowledge of college admissions policies including Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

ANNUAL SALARY: $24,150.00 ($12.34/hour)
