Applications are invited for appointment as Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology (Ref.: 502081), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in microbiology or a related field, with proven track record on HIV-1/AIDS and SARS-CoV. Substantial research experience in studying the mucosal immunology and immunopathogenesis of HIV/AIDS and coronavirus and work experience in BSL-3 laboratories are required. Those with research experience with HIV/AIDS and coronavirus non-human primate model would have an advantage. The appointee is expected to work independently; manage ongoing research projects on emerging infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS, coronavirus; and write scientific publications.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
