Working Title: Enrollment Counselor Official Title: Student Services Specialist Employment Class: Non Instructional Academic Staff FTE: 1.0 Compensation: $32,744 to $38,000 FLSA Status: Exempt Terms of Employment: 12-month, fixed term renewable Position Summary: The counselor will serve as a University ambassador and liaison with prospective students, parents/families, high school staff and other community members throughout the state and region. A focus of this position will be to provide prospective students with seamless and positive enrollment experience. Responsibilities

35% 1. Serve as a consistent point of contact and resource for designated prospective students as they move through the inquiry, application, admission and enrollment process for all three campuses of UW Oshkosh. Utilize a wide variety of tools and modes of communication deemed most appropriate and effective given demographics and stage in process. Build strong rapport with prospective students, family and other constituents working with and supporting the student, responding to all inquiries in a professional and timely manner, and assist with meeting university enrollment goals.

35% 2. Proactively reach out to prospective students throughout their college search, application and enrollment processes. Accurately document, track and report on all contact and communication with prospective students, family and other constituents working with students

15% 3. Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding processes, programs and services on all three campuses that are important to the successful recruitment and retention of students throughout the inquiry, application, admission and enrollment processes. Work collaboratively across the UW Oshkosh community to ensure a seamless and positive application, admission and enrollment process for students.

10% 4. Work collaboratively with all Admissions Office staff in the execution of duties to ensure continuity of experience and information sharing as well as an understanding of recruitment processes, policies and procedures.

5% 5. Assist with other projects and department responsibilities as necessary, based on skill set and office needs.

Qualifications Required:
  1. Bachelor’s degree
  2. Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
  3. Proven skills in meeting deadlines and reaching individual and organizational goals
  4. Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  5. Demonstrated understanding in utilization of student information or other database management systems
  6. Excellent written, verbal, active listening and organizational skills
  7. Ability to successfully work both in teams and individually
Preferred:
  1. Master’s degree
  2. Professional experience working in higher education, admissions and recruitment or enrollment management
  3. Experience using a customer relationship management (CRM) system
  4. Experience using a student information system
