The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Grove City College invites applications for one Assistant/Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering position with a background in mechanical systems, pending final budget approval.  The B.S.M.E. program is ABET-accredited and has an exceptional internship, job, and graduate school placement record. The program is growing and innovating—including a new robotics minor, design projects with close industry ties and a thriving student/faculty research program. The department seeks applicants that support its commitment to academic excellence, undergraduate teaching and research, hands-on engineering design, and advising within the context of a college community that values liberal arts education, the life of the Christian mind and service for the common good. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate courses primarily in the mechanical systems area including laboratory courses and the advising of capstone design projects.  Applicants with teaching experience, as well as research and/or industry experience in 3D solid modeling, manufacturing, system dynamics and controls are especially encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field awarded by August 2021. They must demonstrate proficiency in teaching undergraduates in both classroom and laboratory settings. Although undergraduate teaching is the primary focus at Grove City College, student/faculty research and other scholarly work—such as research in engineering education—is highly valued and applicants should have the ability and a plan to carry on research and/or other scholarly work as time permits. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications.
