Situated on the Gulf Coast of Florida and Sarasota Bay on the New College of Florida campus, The Jane Bancroft Cook Library, a shared service of New College of Florida and the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, is a highly collaborative and innovative organization, which works diligently and creatively to provide access to scholarly resources in the format and modality best suited to the needs of the researcher. We are currently accepting applications for an Assistant/Associate/Full Librarian for Research, Instruction and Digital Humanities.

 This librarian collaborates with a team of librarians in delivering research and instruction services while providing leadership and expertise in services supporting digital humanities/scholarship and technology-based research. S/he will work collaboratively with faculty, students, staff and fellow librarians on established digital projects, support for new digital projects, providing instruction in digital research methods and technologies in all disciplines. The incumbent will participate in collection development in assigned areas, liaising with assigned subjects, and lead/participate in library-sponsored events and exhibits. This position may also provide outreach to non-academic units to develop events and services that promote Cook Library, supervise staff and students as required, and perform other duties/functions as requested. Under the direction of the Dean of the Library, and in collaboration with other librarians and staff, the Research, Instruction and Digital Humanities Librarian will participate in long-range planning and development and assessment of programs, resources, services, and policies. A master’s degree from an accredited institution in library science and appropriate experience as a professional librarian is required.
