Experienced Medical Assistant needed for busy, rapidly growing Dermatology office. We are looking for a motivated, reliable person who can go above and beyond with our patients. Responsibilities include patient care, assisting with procedures, medical documentation, and all aspects of medical back office duties. Must be a team player with the ability to multi-task.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist patient to exam room.
  • Screen patient prior to doctor’s exam and document in EPIC.
  • Prepare for patient procedures.
  • Effectively explain processes to patient.
  • Maintain and operate equipment accordingly to safety and quality control regulations.
  • Maintain inventory and supply ordering.
  • Help monitor clinic flow.
  • Stock exam rooms.
  • Autoclaving.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires high school diploma or GED.
  • Completion/passing of an approved Certified Medical Assistant Exam.
  • Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant (e.g. CMA, AAMA, RMA, AMT, NAHP) required. If not currently certified/registered, must become certified/registered within 90 days of date of hire.
  • Current CPR certification by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross required at time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a CMA, preferably in dermatology. EPIC preferred.

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Requires successful interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members in order to foster optimal quality of outpatient care.

Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certifications:

  • Must have current certification in CPR and certification as a Medical Assistant by an approved national examination agency.
  • Must maintain MA and CPR certification/registration during duration of employment in this position.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
