Assistant/Associate Professor of Music Education
AUGUSTA UNIVERSITY – Assistant/Associate Professor of Music Education, Tenure-track appointment to begin in August of 2021. Responsibilities include: teaching undergraduate and graduate music education courses as needed, including Foundations of Music Education and Elementary and Middle School Methods as well as coursework in area of interest and specialty; recruitment and retention of high caliber music education students. Demonstrated potential for maintaining a professional profile on a trajectory for national distinction as a teacher/performer/conductor and contributing to the enhancement of all facets of the instrumental area. Preference will be given to candidates with orchestral conducting/string music education experience and familiarity with program building. The successful candidate must have a DMA, PhD or other earned doctorate in music, a minimum of two years of successful teaching experience at the collegiate level and demonstrated potential for national distinction as a music educator. Demonstrated potential for teaching effectiveness with diverse student populations, the ability to attract and retain quality undergraduate music students and potential for high quality scholarship appropriate to the discipline that shows promise of continuation are also desired.
