Summary

The Program Coordinator for New Student Programs assists with the management, development and execution of traditional undergraduate New Student Programs that reflect the Christian values of California Baptist University.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.
1. Assist with the planning, development, and implementation of New Student Programs.
2. Assist with the planning, development, and implementation of programs and resources for commuter students.
3. Assist with the coordination of the creative programming elements for Welcome Weekend.
4. Assist with the development and management of Community Life digital and physical media presence and publications.
5. Assist with monitoring and evaluating operational effectiveness of New Student Programs and effect changes required for improvement.
6. Recruit, employ, train, supervise, and evaluate student workers.
7. Collaborate with the Undergraduate Admissions staff on the development and facilitation of the New Student Orientation Program.
8. Maintain scheduled office hours, with the requirement of a flexible schedule of availability at night and on weekends.
9. Serve as member of appropriate University committees.
10. Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, in order to complete office work assignments.

 Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
 Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
 Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented.
 Ability to maintain confidentiality.
 Excellent telephone courtesy knowledge and experience.
 Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
 Knowledge of standard budgeting and expenditure control procedures and documentation.
 Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
 Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
 Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
 Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
 Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
 Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
 Knowledge of general accounting principles
 Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
 Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
 Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
